Sam--Thank you for visiting my new page. I am delighted you found it so quickly--and with your kind words. I figure that butterflies deserve voices--and this is my modest effort to provide them.

just about to use some of the wornderful butterfly "voices" in a mash-up for a copenhagen fridaynightskating video. hope it will be fitting. will credit and attribute acccordingly, so that many copenhagen skaters might then pass by, to learn more about north texan buterflies.
video should be online latest by tuesday.

I created this album to be shared. I created it for you to enjoy. If you're the demonstrative type, you can show your enjoyment with an e-mail, a scrobble of the song on last.fm,

using a song (with attribution) in a video or podcast, a tag when you use the song, a tag in your weblog if you are listening to it, or even a tweet.

I created the songs here with a software synthesizer called Sawcutter 2.0, through which I processed a number of samples I created, including the following:

--crystal being tapped with a mallet

--an ocarina

--my voice

--me whistling

--creating a musical instrument from a diet root beer bottle filled with water to create a woodwind sound

--a stylophone

and many other devices.

I took the pictures here with simple point-and-shoot cameras, including in particular the Argus DC-5185. All the images are were taken in Collin or Dallas County, Texas, in places suburban and rural. The photos are unenhanced, except for the Grass Skipper, which looked so cool with a little Holga effect.
